Dehradun: Uttarakhand's Kinnaur district is likely to receive maximum snowfall on February 9 as well as a glacier collapse crisis. The district administration has issued an alert in view of the crisis. At the same time, local people and tourists who have come here have been urged to be vigilant. Let us know that from February to April, there is the highest crisis of glaciers falling on the river drains and hills of the district.

Giving the news, the DC Kinnaur Abid Hussain Sadiq informed that the maximum snowfall as well as glacier fall in the district on February 9 has been predicted by the Meteorological Department Centre Shimla. He said that in Kinnaur, glaciers are now expected to fall from the mountains, including rivers and rivulets. In such a situation, tourists including local people should not go near the rivers and rivulets including high altitude areas. Especially avoid going to the nullahs around The Mad Nallah, Rally Nala, Bhagat Nala, Sangla, Chitkul in the district. Because glaciers fall in all these drains every year. In such a situation, people should take precautions so that there is no harm of any kind.

In addition to the continuous glacier fall after the month of February in Kinnaur, the trend of rock slides, landslides from the mountains continues, in which there may be loss of life and property of the people. Two persons have also suffered serious minors after a rock fell from the mountains at Karcham, Tapri and Choling in the district on February 6 and 7. In such a situation, the administration is alerting the people even before the snowfall.
