Thiruvananthapuram has been removed from the list of hotspots for some time amidst a nationwide lockdown after no new cases of infection with the Novel Coronavirus in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The first case of this infection in the country came in Kerala on 30 January.

According to the media report, the Health Department of Kerala had put 88 local bodies, including corporations, municipality and panchayats of 14 districts of the state, on the list of hotspots. Given the number of Covid-19 cases, it was termed as hot spots. However, State Health Minister KK Shailaja had said that the list of hotspots would be changed every day in view of the increase in cases. He also told that according to the weekly data, the area will be freed from the list of hotspots.

3 in Thiruvananthapuram, 5 in Kollam, 3 in Alafuja, 7 in Pathanamthitta, 1 in Kottayam district, 6 in Idukki, 2 in Ernakulam, 3 in Thrissur, four in Palakkad, 13 in Malappuram, 6 in Kozhikode, 2 in Wayanad, 19 in Kannur and 14 in Kasargod.
