This July, it’s back to the sets for Kannada film teams

From film teams of new projects like the Upendra and Hariprriya-starrer Lagaam and Rakshith Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth-starrer Sapta Sagaradaache Yello, to the team of the close-to-finish film Man of the Match directed by D Satya Prakash; every team is rearing to go and make up for the lost time that has happened because of the ongoing pandemic.

The Kannada film Madhagaja, “Luckily, we have completed shooting major portions of this film. What is in the pipeline is a song that we plan to shoot from July 12, after which there are a couple of action sequences that were put on hold after actor Sriimurali injured himself on the set. It should not take us long,” explains director Mahesh Kumar.

Shivarajkumar’s next, which is being directed by Vijay Milton, plans to shoot with limited crew at an indoor location in Bengaluru. “We have zeroed in on an auditorium for this schedule and will begin in the first week of July. We chose this because shooting outdoors will cause logistical problems since the weekend curfews will still be in place,” says Vijay.

The team of Kannada film James, starring Puneeth Rajkumar, too has planned a high-octane action sequence to be shot in Bengaluru from July 5. “Our cast members have already received their first dose of vaccination. We have asked the respective heads of the cinematography, stunt and lights team to ensure their team is vaccinated,” reveals the film’s director Chethan Kumar.

Sets are being put up at the Minerva Mills for Kannada film Kabzaa, starring Upendra, and shoot is expected to begin by mid-July. “We are now zeroing in on crew members for this schedule and if they are not vaccinated, we will be ensuring they receive their first dose before we begin the schedule,” says the film’s director R Chandru.
