Mumbai: On Saturday, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari gave a statement that has come in the news. He said that there is no happiness in being the governor and it is very sad to be in this position. Speaking at a function of the Jain community held at the Maharashtra Raj Bhavan, Koshyari said that even though there is no happiness in the post, he feels very happy when spiritual leaders come to the Governor's House and take part in such functions.

When questioned on the same statement, BJP leader Mangal Prabhat Lodha said that no controversy should arise over the statement and the Governor had said so in another context. Due to his statement, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has faced controversies earlier also.

In a public program last month, Bhagat Singh Koshyari created a controversy by calling Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire, a 'symbol of the old times'. After that, there was a lot of criticism of Governor Koshyari. Meanwhile, Bhagat Singh Koshyari had also written a letter to Amit Shah. In this, he wrote, 'I cannot think of insulting the great men of the country even in my dreams. It cannot be an insult to great leaders to give an example of today's conscientious person. I cannot even dream of insulting great men like Maharana Pratap, Guru Gobind Singhji, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who are symbols of courage and sacrifice during the Mughal era.'
