Fear of NRC! Thousands of people applied for birth certificate

Kolkata: The fear of the implementation of the National Citizenship Register (NRC) in India has increased to such an extent that thousands of people together are getting their birth certificates. The Central Government has said many times, from Parliament to the road, that no plan has been made to implement NRC in the country at the moment, while there is doubt about it among the common people.

In Bihar capital Patna, a large number of people are going to the Municipal Corporation office to get their berth certificate. The surprising thing is that a large number of these people are in the age group of around 70 years. It has been reported that after the implementation of CAA, there has been a huge increase in the number of people applying for birth certificates. Officials say that earlier, on an average 600-700 people applied for it in the whole month, whereas in the last two months more than 20 thousand people have applied. Half of these people are those who are between 40-50 years of age, while there are 400 people who are around 70 years of age.

In the capital Patna, where normally it used to take 7-10 days to get a birth certificate, now it has taken about 20-25 days. Officials say that the number of applicants has increased, but the number of employees is the same, so it is taking time to get the certificate made.
