New Delhi: Australia's cricket team is going to play three Tests, three ODIs and one T20 i.e. seven-match series in Pakistan from March 4, 2022. For this, the Australian team is coming on a tour of Pakistan. The first test match will be played in Rawalpindi. Let us tell you that after a long gap of 24 years, the Australian team is coming on a tour of Pakistan. Earlier in the year 1998, Australia toured Pakistan. However, for quite some time now countries around the world have been shying away from sending their teams to Pakistan due to security reasons.  Due to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, many countries started to feel that if they send their teams to play in Pakistan, then their security there could be threatened.

There are many reasons behind this happening. Actually, in the year 2009, the Sri Lankan team came on a tour of Pakistan. During that time on March 3, while going to the stadium in Lahore, terrorists attacked the Sri Lankan bus and fired bullets. Terrorists also attacked Sri Lankan cricketers with Rocket Propelled Guns (RPGs). Eight people lost their lives in this terrorist attack. Also, the then Sri Lankan cricket team captain Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkar, Ajantha Mendis, Thilan Samaraweera, Tharanga Paranavitana and Chaminda Vaas were badly injured. Still, driver Mehr Khaleel saved the lives of the cricketers by speeding the bus and escorted them to the stadium safely. 13 years have passed since that incident, but till now the situation in Pakistan has not changed. Pakistan has to bear the brunt of terrorism. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) says that it suffered a loss of about $ 20,000 (about Rs 15 lakh) in that attack.

Threats to kill before Australia tour:-

Now that Australia's cricket team has reached Pakistan 13 years after the attack on Sri Lanka, it too is being threatened. Australian cricketer Ashton Agar's partner Madeleine has been threatened through social media by fanatics not to tour Pakistan. The threat states that Ashton should not come to Pakistan. If he goes to Pakistan, he will not survive. After this threat, Australia is also reviewing the security of its players.
