The Bhopal Crime Branch and  Habibganj police nabbed three members involved in Sandalwood stealing and selling illegally and recovered 50 kg of sandalwood from their possession on Saturday.

Acting on a tip off regarding miscreants police team nabbed three miscreants and recovered stolen Sandalwood from their possession. The nabbed accused were discussing to sell the Sandalwood and were in search of customers when they were caught. The three were identified as Aleem Khan (26) of Eitkhedi, Sattar Khan (32) of Anand Nagar and Anees Khan (23) of Barrai. Two of the gang members are still at large and search has been continued to nab the miscreants. After the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under section 379 of the IPC. Sattar has been booked by Habibganj and TT Nagar police for theft and other crimes.

Meanwhile, Bairagarh police has nabbed a 27-year old youth and recovered a country-made pistol and one live cartridge from his possession late in the evening on Saturday near Borvan village. According to the police, acting on a tip-off, a youth was nabbed and a country-made pistol and cartridges were recovered from him.

The miscreant was not able to provide any details of keeping the country-made pistol legally and was charged of keeping arm illegally. The accused was identified as Nitin Pawar of Rahul Nagar Bairagarh. After the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under sections 25 & 27 of the Arms Act and have started an investigation to unearth the network of supply and demand.
