Three held with Royal Bengal tiger skin in Banderdewa

 Yesterday late evening, the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), Guwahati, police, and forest officials found tiger skin and various tiger body parts at a petrol station near the national highway in Banderdewa, Assam. The skin belongs to a fully grown Royal Bengal tiger, according to the police officials.

Four canines, 18 nails, bones, and a 14.4 kilogramme skull were among the body parts confiscated by the teams. The materials were confiscated based on information provided, and the operation was led by WCCB SRO (Guwahati) assistant director in-charge. Teams from the Harmuti Range under the Lakhimpur Division, Assam Police, and Arunachal Forest and Police agencies were also present.

In connection with the case, three people were arrested: These person are Tape Yomcha and Naynay Yomcha from Arunachal Pradesh, and Probin Doley from Assam.

"During preliminary interrogation, it was found that the tiger was poached in retaliation for hunting down cattle in the villages of Arunachal Pradesh's West Siang area." According to an official statement, "the matter has been turned over to the Harmuti Range for further investigation."
