This 25 August is the third anniversary of the military attack on the Rohingya rebels. So far, about 6 lakh 90 thousand Rohingya Muslims have left the country and gone to Bangladesh from Myanmar. Rohingya Muslims have been accused of arson, rape and murder. The United Nations had also expressed apprehension of genocide. Myanmar called it a reasonable response to the attacks of the Rohingya insurgent, calling it a clearance campaign.

Myanmar is a Buddhist-majority country. More than a million Rohingya Muslims reside here. Communal violence started between Buddhists and Rohingya rebels in 2012 in Rakhine state of Myanmar. Three years ago the situation became appalling when 9 police officers died in an attack by Rohingya rebels on the Maungdo border in Myanmar and then the army started repressing them.

Buddhists also attacked the army. Thousands of Rohingya were sacrificed in this attack. After this, tension increased and the Rohingya were forced to leave the Muslim country. Even though the Rohingya have been living in Myanmar for centuries, they are considered by local Buddhist illegal infiltrators. About one million Rohingyas in Bangladesh live in five camps, covering an area equal to one-third of Manhattan. Half of the total number of these refugees are children. There are more women than men in these camps. Kutupalong, the world's largest and most densely populated refugee camp, which is an area of just 13 square kilometers, is home to more than 700,000 people.
