Kolkata: There are few days left for the West Bengal assembly elections. All parties are gearing up to win the election. But CM Mamata Banerjee's party is not stable. The Trinamool Congress has suffered another major setback just before the election. TMC MLA and film actress Debashree Roy have resigned from the party. Debashree Roy's resignation ahead of the assembly elections is seen as a major loss for the party.

According to media reports, Debashree had been angry with the party for the past few days. There has been no response from CM Mamata Banerjee in the matter. Earlier in the 2016 assembly elections, Debashree contested from The Raidighi seat. She had beaten Kanti Ganguly of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) by 1229 votes.

According to media reports, Mamata Banerjee's party is likely to have a major split. Several more TMC MLAs and three MPs are in touch with the Bharatiya Janata Party. In the next few days, the BJP can check the backgrounds of all these leaders and join them in the party. At the same time, the BJP will not give tickets to two MLAs out of the TMC MLAs.
