The Rajya Sabha was finally adjourned for the entire day after two adjournments on Thursday due to uproar. Information and Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav could not make his statement on the 'Pegasus controversy' properly due to the uproar. He had to lay it on the Table of the House. Due to the uproar, the Zero Hour and the Question Hour could not be run. ITÂ Minister Ashwini Vaishnav was scheduled to make a statement on the alleged phone tapping issue. As soon as he stood up to speak, opposition MPs rushed to the well of the House and started shouting slogans against the government. Deputy Chairman Harivansh requested the protesting MPs to return to their respective seats and complete their statement to the Minister.
As Soon as Vaishnav started making a statement, TMC MP Shantanu Sen went to his seat and snatched the paper from Vaishnav and tore it, thus preventing him from speaking. The Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha then adjourned the House till 11 am tomorrow. Earlier today, the House was adjourned twice after opposition MPs raised issues of alleged spying using Pegasus and others.
