Kochi: Preparations are at its peak for the swearing-in of the new government in Kerala. CM Pinarayi Vijayan will be sworn in as CM at the Central Stadium on Thursday. Vijayan will be sworn in as minister along with 21 cabinet members. In Kerala, the Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left Democratic Party (LDF) has won the assembly elections for the second time.
The swearing-in ceremony will be very simple due to the global epidemic Corona virus. Only 500 people have been invited to the event at the Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. In fact, on Wednesday, the Kerala High Court had said that not many people can be invited to the swearing-in ceremony in view of the corona epidemic. The government should assure that it will be allowed if it organises the function in a limited number.
In view of which, at least, the function is being organized in large numbers. The court said that while swearing-in ceremony has been held in states like Assam, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu in the presence of fewer guests, the number of guests in Kerala should also be restricted in view of corona.
