Pramod Bhagat received a call from Odisha Chief Minister, who congratulates him on his gold medal win. Naveen Patnaik, the Chief Minister of Odisha, spoke with para-shuttler Pramod Bhagat, who hails from the State, on Saturday and congratulated him on his success in the Tokyo Paralympics.

On Saturday, Pramod Bhagat won the gold medal in the men's singles SL3 — final match at Yoyogi National Stadium, defeating Great Britain's Daniel Bethell 2-0. On Court 1, the first-seed Indian won in straight sets by 21-14 and 21-17 in 45 minutes over the second-seed Daniel Bethell. This was India's first badminton medal at the Paralympics in Tokyo.
