Tokyo: Tokyo Olympics on Friday (August 6th), the 15th day of 2020, the Indian Women's Hockey Team failed to make history. Great Britain won the final minute 4-3 with a decisive goal to clinch the bronze medal. Britain dominated India completely in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Indian team managed to crack down on Britain. Rani Rampal's team scored three goals in the quarter to take a 3-2 lead over Britain.

India scored these three goals against Britain within 4 minutes. Two goals were scored by Gurjit Kaur and one by Vandana Kataria. According to reports, this was Vandana's fourth goal in the tournament. However, Britain, after the third quarter, once again took a 4-3 lead over India in the fourth quarter. Britain scored in the 48th minute and that was the final result.

On Thursday (August 5th), the 14th day of the Tokyo Olympics, the Indane Men's Hockey team won the bronze medal by defeating Germany in crushing performance. Team India made history by scoring consecutive goals in the second half to beat Germany 5-4.  With this resounding victory, India made the country proud by ending its four-decade aridity.
