New Delhi: In most of the states, including the country's capital, Delhi, the scorching heat has started appearing. Delhi-NCR recorded a temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius on Saturday, the hottest day of the season. In most areas of the country, the mercury remained around 40 or above. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature will remain between 40 and 42 degrees in most of the states for the next 5 days. In many parts of East, North West, and Central India, an increase of 3 to 5 degrees above normal can be recorded in the temperature.

As per the report, Faridabad was the hottest city in the NCR. The maximum temperature was recorded here at 43.1 degrees Celsius. While in Noida it was 40.8 degrees, in Gurugram it was 41.0 degrees, and in Ghaziabad it was 39.7 degrees. On the other hand, Prayagraj was the hottest on Saturday in Uttar Pradesh, where the day temperature was recorded at 44.2 degrees Celsius. The mercury in Agra was 42.6 degrees.

According to the forecast made by the Meteorological Department, the weather may turn again between April 17 and 19 in some parts, including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Thunderstorms and rain are expected in some areas. There may also be hailstorms in some parts.
