The company started Hybrid Electric Vehicles in 1997 by launching the Prius. Today, after selling 15 million hybrids, Toyota has reduced 120 million tonnes of CO2 emissions from its hybrid electric technology for the environment compared to petrol vehicles worldwide. The Toyota Vellfire is the company's recently launched car in the market that is equipped with hybrid technology.
