Sahibganj: The balance of a cargo ship between Sahibganj and Manihari in Jharkhand deteriorated on Thursday night. In this accident, 14 boats loaded on the ship drowned. 9 of them have been removed. At the same time, drivers are reported to be missing in this case. Rescue operations have started at the spot. Teams from both Bihar and Jharkhand have been engaged. The cargo ship had left Samda Ghat in Sahibganj and was to go to Manihari Ghat (Katihar) in Bihar.

The same Sahibganj DC Ram Niwas Yadav has reported this. He said that 4 to 5 trucks are still submerged. The administrative team has been engaged in rescue operations. 2, 3 people are also missing. Here, the anchor of the ship said that he was carrying 14 trucks. Five trucks from the ship fell into the Ganga. Nine trucks on the ship overturned. Regarding the accident, he said that first there was a sound of a tyre burst and then, the balance of the ship was disturbed. Then such an incident happened.

The cargo ship, which had gone from Sahibganj in Jharkhand to Manihari Ghat in Bihar, was loaded with stone chips (stones). At the time of the accident, the persons also made a sound of rescue. Many people also saved their lives by jumping into the water. After this incident, a team from Deoghar has reached Sahibganj for assistance from NDRF for the rescue of relief. It is worth mentioning that even before this, in the year 2020 also, a ship going from Rajmahal to Manikachak in West Bengal had overturned uncontrollably. Many trucks were submerged in the Ganga. Many people's also lost their lives.
