SRINAGAR: Final tributes are being paid to Rifleman Ravi Kumar of the Indian Army, who made the ultimate sacrifice while bravely serving in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Rifleman Ravi Kumar lost his life during a counter-terrorism operation named 'Operation Sujaligala,' which unfolded over two intense days in the dense forest region of Patrada in Rajouri. This operation resulted in the tragic loss of an Indian Army soldier and left three others wounded.

Leaders and high-ranking military officials have expressed their heartfelt condolences to the grieving family of the fallen soldier. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha took to the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to pay tribute to the courageous Rifleman Ravi. Sinha wrote, "I extend my deepest respects to the braveheart Rifleman Ravi, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in Rajouri. His unwavering dedication to our nation will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences go out to the martyr's family."

The encounter commenced on September 11 when Indian Army personnel detected suspicious activity in the area. Special forces provided crucial support during the operation, which was part of 'Op Sujaligala' in the Narla area, as confirmed by the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in Jammu, Mukesh Singh. Security forces recovered two AK rifles, seven magazines, and various other types of ammunition from the terrorists who lost their lives in the operation.
