The political partis are making stratgies to reach out reach out to the masses through different social media platforms. Tripura Congress has also launched to  recruit staff to reach out to the masses through platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter. Another 2,000 volunteers would be recruited in the party’s social media cell. The tag line for this new initiative is “Join Congress on social media”. 

The state Congress has launched this campaign to counter the various propaganda that the ruling BJP central and state governments try to promote through different social media platforms. Congress has launched this initiative ahead of the upcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) election. Tripura Congress president Pijush Biswas said, ‘We will run a social media campaign to spread our message and reach out to the masses.  We will recruit people and train them to strengthen our IT cell.”

He further added, “These newly recruited staff will be responsible for detecting false statements that other parties like BJP spread about the Congress on different social media platforms. They will try to highlight unreported facts in the state." Congress plans to recruit 100 individuals in each state assembly constituency along with 1,000 volunteers in each Lok Sabha constituency as part of this campaign.
