The controversy over the CID in Haryana has deepened over the past few days. After the special session of the Haryana Assembly, Home Minister Anil Vij issued orders to charge sheet CID Chief Anil Kumar Rao on charges of indiscipline and not reporting in a major development. In writing, orders have been issued to Vijayawardhan, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department. Not only this but the Home Minister has also summoned the report by following orders from the Home Secretary.

Before this, Home Minister Anil Vij has also written to the Chief Minister regarding the replacement of CID Chief Anil Kumar Rao and replacing him with Additional Director General of Police Shrikant Jadhav. Although the government has to decide whether to appoint Srikanth Jadhav as CID chief or not, but Anil Vij in a letter to Home Secretary also raised serious allegations against CID chief Rao.

In the letter written to the Home Secretary, the Home Minister said that the CID Chief is not even giving intelligence inputs regularly. This is gross indiscipline. The CID chief should be charged. As per the rule book, CIDs are under the Home Department and reporting to the Home Minister is mandatory. Both Chief Minister Manohar Lal and Home Minister Anil Vij reached Delhi after the one-day special session of the Haryana Assembly ended. Both have gone to congratulate the new BJP president JP Nadda. First CM Manohar Lal reached New Delhi from the government plane. Home Minister Vij also reached New Delhi in a government helicopter. Both are to meet the BJP high command.
