Telangana Rashtra Samithi popularly known as TRS is the party which was born with Telangana statehood struggle. Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) founded the party in the year 2001. Back then, the only objective of the TRS Party was to achieve a separate statehood to Telangana. With its uncompromising spirit to make Telangana a reality, TRS Party played a pivotal role in the struggle.

In the new state assembly elections held in April-May 2014, the TRS party surfaced as the single largest party by winning 63 seats in the 119-member assembly and then TRS head KCR became the Chief Minister of Telangana with a promise to make Telangana, a role model state in India.

The TRS's Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency in-charge, Marri Rajashekhar Reddy, who recently participated in the swearing-in ceremony of the new 14-member working committee of the Sri Venkateshwara Perumal Temple, recently said that 'TRS government is committed to protecting the cultural and traditional practices of all religions.' He further added that the TRS government is also taking all steps to protect and develop the Hindu Sanatana Dharma temples.
