According to Chief Labour Commissioner’s office, over 26 lakh migrant workers stranded across the country, of which 10% are in relief camps or shelter homes. Many citizens were struck due to restricted transit and starved due to excessive hoarding in the heat of the pandemic. Many students and local representatives are joining hands to make sure adequate necessities are being provided.

Amidst pandemic, prices of groceries have flared up to an extent where the basic needs of the home cannot be afforded by stranded families. It is also very unfortunate that many groceries are being auctioned to double the market prices Twenty foundation, an NGO founded by gen-z entrepreneurs Jyotsna reddy and Santhoshi reddy has been there through sickness and health of people affected with the novel coronavirus in rural areas of Southern Indian states.

Not only have they led awareness campaigns for youth at communal levels to participate, but also about effective hygiene practices and demonstration awareness campaigns about the usage of masks and hand rub to avoid contraction of the virus. Twenty foundation launched a nurture program exclusive for those who held vulnerable due to the coronavirus. This nurturing program primarily constitutes the provision of ration kits filled with groceries of essential nutrients and vitamins. ‘’ Through this campaign, we were able to distribute 6,000 ration kits across all the rural regions of the southern state.

This unprecedented virus had affected their livelihoods making it very hard for their sustenance. While many children bared time to education, with compassion and perseverance, our volunteers made sure some engagement activities held via video calls to keep them positive and build up the courage. We have also set up crowdfunding to reach out to cater to much larger people who need protection and care in this pandemic”, Said, Jyotsna reddy and Santhoshi reddy, founders of twenty foundation, twenty beauty.
