UIDAI today in wake of some media reports on default inclusion of UIDAI’s outdated and invalid Toll-free number 1800-300-1947 in contact list of Android phones said that UIDAI hasn't asked or communicated to any manufacturer or service provider for providing any such facility, UIDAI tweeted because several Twitter users pointed out that they found an updated Aadhaar helpline number on their phone.

 UIDAI on his clarification said that it has not asked any manufacturer or service provider to provide the facility of automatically storing the helpline number on users ‘contact list on Thursday. UIDAI also indicated that the number shared by many Twitter users micro blogging website is not the actual Aadhaar helpline number.

In a series of tweets UIDAI clarified that the help line number is 1800-300-1947 not valid.

 Worth mention here According to reports, the Aadhaar outdated and invalid Aadhaar number helpline is appearing automatically on Android devices and how the number automatically got stored on phonebooks across so many devices is still a huge mystery.

On a related note this is the second time just in a few days that UIDAI offered a clarification for concerns related to Aadhaar. On this event, users asked the Aadhaar regulatory body why the updated Aadhar number was saved in their phone book without their acquaintance.

In addition Not only thousands of users but the French security hacker Elliot Anderson claimed to have hacked Trai chief RS Sharma's Aadhaar number, also fired the same question.
