Ujjain: BJP leader Uma Bharati, who arrived in Ujjain on July 30 for the Mahakaleshwar Temple Darshan, was embroiled in controversy when she arrived to visit Lord Shiva by wearing kurta-dhoti instead of the temple's dress code sari and the temple priests expressed displeasure. In fact, like the last time, Uma Bharati wore a dhoti-kurta to the mahal sanctum, which was gifted a sari to Uma Bharati by angry pandas and priests.

When the priests gifted the sari, Uma Bharati said, "I like sarees. The temple priests have gifted me sarees. Now, the next time I come, I will wear it and visit Baba Mahakal in the temple.

It may be mentioned that on July 30, she reached in temple in Dhoti-Kurta instead of dress code. When the temple priests expressed their displeasure, Uma Bharati said that there is ban on jeans-t-shirt and I haven't worn jeans.'

Talking about the dress code saree prescribed for women in the Mahakal court, Uma Bharati said that if the priest is saying, his point is valid. She gifted me the sari, I would come next time wearing the sari.'
