The Ukrainian government has also banned its athletes from competing in competitions with athletes from Russia and Belarus. According to official sources, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine has already banned Ukrainian athletes from participating in competitions with Russian and Belarusian athletes. Let us tell you that this order, published on the website of the Sports Ministry, is signed by Deputy Sports Minister Matvi Bidni.

Official delegations of the national teams of Ukraine are also being banned from participating in international sports competitions, in which athletes from Russia and Belarus are participating, the ministry wrote in its decree. Ukrainian minister and member of the National Olympic Committee, Oleh Nemchinov, said in the last week of March that the Ukrainian government had decided to ban its athletes from participating in qualifying events for the 2024 Olympics, as Russian athletes would also participate in those events.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has said that Kiev's decision to bar Ukrainian athletes from competing in tournaments alongside the Russians will only harm Ukrainian sports and is going to affect the morale of Ukrainian athletes. Some Ukrainian athletes, including Olympian skeleton racer Vladislav Herashkevich, denounced the ban, saying it would have a detrimental effect on Ukrainian sports.
