KIEV: Ukraine estimates that over USD 1 trillion has been lost as a result of the conflict with Russia. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has stated that Ukraine's indirect damages from the conflict with Russia are estimated to be more than USD1 trillion, said the Interfax-Ukraine news agency in a statement.
Shmyhal was reported by the Xinhua news agency as saying, "The losses, estimated indirectly, taking into consideration the losses in the coming years, amount to more than a trillion dollars."
He said, the cost of direct damage inflicted by the attacks to Ukraine's public buildings, bridges, highways, civilian and military infrastructure is estimated to be around 270 billion dollars.
He predicted that the conflict will reduce Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP) by 35 percent this year. After a 3.8 percent drop in 2020, Ukraine's GDP increased by 3.4 percent in 2021.
