KIEV: The Ukrainian Air Force has carried out over 1,100 attacks against Russian targets since Moscow began its ongoing invasion of Kiev on February 24.
"As of today, more than 1,100 group air strikes on columns of equipment, positions, manpower, and logistics centres belonging to the Russian occupiers have been carried out by attackers and bombers of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine," the Air Force Command said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian Air Force's attack planes launched missile and bomb attacks against Russian soldiers earlier on Wednesday, according to a statement quoted by Ukrayinska Pravda. The strikes also resulted in the destruction of at least ten armoured vehicles and the deaths of almost two dozen Russian personnel, according to the report.
Earlier in the day, the Ukrainian Air Force's anti-aircraft missile units shot two Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles, while the Land Forces' air defence destroyed seven more of the same type.
According to the statement, strike aircraft attacked Russian forces' fuel and lubricant depots as well as ammunition dumps on Tuesday, destroying around eight pieces of equipment.
