Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has raised an alarm regarding the hygiene standards aboard Vistara flights by sharing a snapshot of discarded water bottles and half-consumed meals scattered across the cabin floor. Chandrasekhar, who serves as the Minister of State for Electronics and Technology, expressed his disappointment with the state of the cabin during his recent journey.
The Union Minister, who had chosen Vistara for his return trip to India after attending the AI Safety Summit in the United Kingdom, was left dismayed by the conditions aboard the aircraft. While the flight itself was smooth, the overall experience was marred by the subpar service and the untidy cabin, as per Chandrasekhar's account.
Taking to the microblogging platform X, Rajeev Chandrasekhar conveyed that his Vistara flight from London to Delhi took place on a pristine new 787 aircraft, offering a seamless travel experience. However, he expressed his sorrow at the lackluster service and the state of the cabin, emphasizing that such conditions hardly position the Indian airline to compete effectively with its global counterparts.
In his social media post, Chandrasekhar lamented, "Nice new clean 787 aircraft and a very smooth flight - but saddened by the service & state of cabin - food & litter not the best way to welcome visitors to India or compete with other global carriers." He concluded his post with the hashtag "Disappointed."
Vistara took prompt notice of the Minister's grievance and responded on the same platform. The airline conveyed its regret for the inconvenience experienced by Chandrasekhar and emphasized that such conditions were not in line with the exceptional passenger experience they strive to provide.
In Vistara's statement, they acknowledged that they had fallen short of their standard cleaning procedures on this occasion and viewed it as an isolated incident. The airline assured that the matter had been brought to the attention of the relevant department for a thorough review and necessary improvements. They also expressed their appreciation for Chandrasekhar's feedback, reaffirming their commitment to delivering an enhanced experience in the future.
