The United States has notified UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres of its decision to reinstate all UN sanctions on Iran. It states that Washington will never allow "the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism" to freely buy and sell conventional weapons (commonly used in war).
On Thursday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo gave a big statement. After which he reached the office of the United Nations and met the Secretary-General Gutares and the United Nations Security Council President for the month of August, Ambassador Diane Triyansiah Dajani of Indonesia. Pompeo handed him the letter, which details the US decision to restore all UN sanctions on Iran in a way. Under UN Security Council Resolution 2231, these restrictions on Iran were lifted. Under the given letter, all these restrictions will be implemented again within 30 days from 20 August.
After this, Pompeo told the press in the United Nations that our message is very simple and clear, that the United States is the world's largest country to sponsor terrorism ever openly aircraft, tanks, missiles or other types of conventional. We will not allow you to buy or sell weapons. Iran's ballistic missile training will be banned again. Iran's nuclear activities will also be stopped again.
