On Sunday morning, there was a different twist in the Unnao rape case when the victim's family refused to perform the last rites of the dead body. The family, who had asked the administration to do the last rites in the morning, did not reach the house of the elder sister of the rape victim. After the elder sister reached home, the aggrieved family insisted that the body would not be buried until Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came. Job and security were demanded. However, till afternoon, the police and administration officials managed to convince the victim's family. After his assurances, the aggrieved family agreed to the funeral. Now the body of the victim is being taken for the last rites.

According to the media report, after the family of the rape victim refused the funeral of the dead body in the morning, the process of celebrating them continued till the afternoon. The District Collector of Unnao had a telephonic conversation with Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Kumar Awasthi on the phone of his family. The Additional Chief Secretary assured the two families and the deceased's brother to be given job while tying up the unhappy family. After this, the grieving family started preparations for the funeral and picked up the body.

After the death of the rape victim on Friday night, her body reached the village at around 9:08 pm on Saturday night. Due to the absence of the elder sister of the victim at night, the family, who told the administration to do the last rites in the morning, overturned on Sunday morning. After the elder sister's arrival, the family insisted that the body would not be buried until Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came. Also, the family has also placed a condition of giving a government job to a person. The victim's elder sister has also accused of not getting treatment properly from Unnao to Lucknow.
