LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has announced that the govt has decided to revoke all traffic challans for private and commercial vehicle owners outstanding from 2017 to 2021.

Regardless of all types of vehicles, the cancellation is applicable to challans issued between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2021, according to the official document. This includes cases that are currently pending in various courts.

According to UP Ordinance Number 2 of June 2023, the Transport Commissioner said that this cancellation of older pending challans is in compliance. The annulment of such challans was the subject of protests by farmers in Noida.

The action opens the door for the waiver of millions of challans throughout UP. After this time, drivers shouldn't fear because old, pending challans have been cancelled. They are able to do online traffic challans while at home.

The car number is all that is necessary to visit the official website of the Uttar Pradesh Traffic Police and acquire detailed information. Furthermore, drivers can submit a complaint immediately on the website if they think an erroneous challan has been issued.

A mobile notification is also sent when a vehicle's challan is cut, ensuring prompt communication.
