New Delhi: Twitter India MD, who has brought relief from the Karnataka High Court in the Ghaziabad case, seems to be embroiled in another problem. Another case has been registered against him in Uttar Pradesh. A case has been registered against Twitter India MD Manish Maheshwari for showing J&K and Ladakh out of India.
Bajrang Dal leader Praveen Bhati has registered a case against Maheshwari in Bulandshahr, about 100 kilometers from Delhi. He has also been nominated Twitter India's news partnership head, Amrita Tripathi. The case has been registered under Section 505(2) of the IPC. It is alleged that the tech company is engaged in promoting animosity in India. They are creating a state of hatred among the individuals. Section 74 of the IT Act has also been incorporated.
However, after massive protests, Twitter on Monday removed the deformed map describing Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh as out of India from its portal. It depicted a defaced map of Twitter's portal India, which showed Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh as a separate country. The hashtag of the Twitter ban was trending on Twitter with around 17,000 tweets. Twitter removed the deformed map on Monday evening amid growing protests. The Twitter portal had seen this clear error under the title 'Twist Life' in the career section. This is not the first time that Twitter has misrepresented the map of India. They have earlier shown Leh as a part of China.
