Everyone is shocked by the untimely demise of BJP state vice-president and BJP leader Upendra Dutt Shukla in Purvanchal. Upendra Dutt Shukla's entire political career was full of struggles. He was identified as a struggling leader.
For your information, let us tell you that during the Emergency in 1977, during his Emergency, he tried to arrest under MISA but due to his age, his desire could not be fulfilled. He joined BJP in 1980. In 1996, he contested from Kauriram assembly seat on a BJP ticket and lost. In 2006, he tried his luck as an unarmed candidate from Kaudiram seat but still could not get success. In 2007, he again got a chance to contest the assembly elections from Kauriram seat on a BJP ticket but this time also he did not get success.
In many cases, the party made him a BJP candidate from the prestigious Gorakhpur parliamentary seat in the 2018 Lok Sabha by-election, given the struggling image. Luck also did not support him this time and he had to face defeat from SP candidate Pravin Nishad. This seat was vacant due to the resignation of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as MP. Although Upendra could not get any constitutional post but his struggle for the organization will never be forgotten. He fulfilled the duties of the state minister of BJYM, district president of Gorakhpur, regional president and state vice president with full devotion and lived up to the expectations of the party.
