New Delhi: Roger Federer, one of the world's tennis players, has made it to the quarterfinals of the US Open. Federer defeated David Goffin in straight sets to enter the quarterfinals of the US Open for the 13th time. Federer, who was out of the tournament only in the fourth round last year, showed that he would not like to revive him again. He defeated Goffin by a margin of 6–2, 6–2, 6–0 to enter the next round.

In the next round, Federer will face 78th ranked Grigor Dimitrov, who defeated Australian 38th ranked Alex de Minor 7-5 6-3 6-4. Federer Andre Agassi holds the joint second spot for most quarter-final play at the US Open.

Coming off injury concerns, American sophomore Serena Williams progressed to a record 24th Grand Slam title to enter the quarterfinals of the US Open, while French Open champions Ashley Barty and Carolina Pliskova finished in the tournament. Six-time US Open champion Serena defeated 22nd seed Petra Martich of Croatia 6-3 6-4. They will now face China's Wang Qiang, who defeated world number two Barty.
