New Delhi: Tennis stars Sania Mirza and Rajiv Ram's Indian-American pair have been knocked out of the US Open after losing in the first round. The pair of Ukraine and Australia defeated 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 in 61 minutes in mixed doubles. With this setback, Mirza's campaign at the last Grand Slam of the season came to an end.

Sania Mirza has already lost to Koko Vandewege of the US in the first round of the women's doubles. India's Rohan Bopanna and Croatia's Ivan Dodich will take on Monaco's Huzo Nis and France's Arthur Rindernech in the second round of the men's doubles.

India's Ankita Raina and Divij Sharan were knocked out of the tournament after losing in the first round with their respective partners in the doubles. Ankita and her Ukrainian partner Katrina Bondarenko suffered a 1-6, 1-6 defeat at the hands of Slovenia's Andreja and Croatia's Dariza Jurak. Divij and her Korean partner Kwon Suu Wu were defeated 3-6, 4-6 by Britain's Joe Salisbury and Rajiv Ram of the US.
