United States: Joe Biden, the president of the United States, will give his second State of the Union speech on Tuesday at 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, which will be 14 March at 7.30 am Indian time.

The State of the Union, the president of the United States' yearly address to a joint session of Congress, primarily discusses the social, economic, financial, and political climate in the country. In addition, the US President highlights the accomplishments of his or her administration as well as the advancement of current and upcoming legislative proposals.

Members of the Senate and the House of Representatives, as well as the president's cabinet, senior military leaders, and Supreme Court justices,  among others, are to attend the US President's annual message.

The US President also invites 24 guests, including family members, to sit in a box with the First Lady in addition to other attendance. The Speaker may also extend invitations to up to 24 people. Being Special visitors, Members of Congress are generally permitted to extend invitations.

Congressional Black Caucus leader Steven Horsford, a Democrat from Nevada, reportedly invited the parents of Tyre Nichols, a Black man who was killed by police in Memphis, TN, as guests this year, according to news agency Reuters.

Michael McCaul, the chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, also welcomed Roya Rahmani, the first female ambassador from Afghanistan to the US.

Cori Bush, a Democrat from Missouri, has invited a number of people, including Michael Brown (senior), whose death sparked the Black Lives Matter movement.

What is expectedof Biden? According to reports, Biden's address would serve as an unofficial kickoff to the 2024 presidential race. He might highlight the improvement in the economy since the Covid-19 recession.

Also, the US President might discuss how to influence public opinion regarding the debt ceiling and social expenditure, and he might present stark contrasts with some Republicans' agendas, according to Reuters.

Biden concentrated on Washington's response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine earlier in the year. According to Nielsen, 38.2 million people in the US watched the address on television.
