Lucknow: The news of a painful road accident has come to light in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. On Lucknow-Varanasi highway, a container and Scorpio collided, in which 9 people have died. Five bodies were exhumed immediately after the accident, while the bodies of four passengers were cut out of Scorpio. One person has been seriously injured in this road accident. The injured man has been sent to Rae Bareli for treatment. Police remain in contact with the relatives of the deceased.

The family members of those died in the accident have left Bhojpur and were going to Pratapgarh. People riding in Scorpio were going to Bhojpur from Rajasthan to Bihar. This incident happened in Wajidpur under Nawabganj police station. The accident took place between container and Scorpio. The front of Scorpio is severely shattered. 

The Superintendent of Police has said that 'The victims were going to attend a function from Rajasthan to Bhojpur in Bihar. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Immediately after the accident, a large number of local officials have reached the spot. Police is trying to investigate the case from every angle. Details of the accident are awaited.
