Agra: The Ghatiya Azam Khan road of Tajnagri Agra will be known as Ashok Singhal Marg. After the resolution was passed in the Municipal Corporation, Mayor Naveen Jain has inaugurated Ashok Singhal Marg. In the 16th session of the Municipal Corporation held on September 27 last, a resolution was passed to rename many roads including the Ghatiya Azam Khan road.
Under this, the route from Ghatiya Azam Khan to the railway station has now been renamed as Ashok Singhal Marg. Mayor Naveen Jain has informed that Ashok Singhal, who distinguished Hindutva at home and abroad, was born in Agra, so the Ghatiya Azam Khan marg has been renamed as Ashok Singhal Marg. BJP workers also raised slogans of Jai Shriram.
Long ago people coming from Kanpur used to go to Mathura and Delhi while crossing Agra. So at one time, this road used to be the main road.
