Hapur: A case of shooting and killing a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has been reported at a distance from the police post at Dholana police station in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur district. Due to this, terror has spread in the whole area. Three miscreants who were on a bike killed the BJP leader by firing a sharp shot. After this, everyone escaped from the spot. The deceased Rakesh Sharma was General Secretary of BJP in that area.

After getting information about the incident, the police officer reached the spot and started investigating the case. BJP's Divisional General Secretary Rakesh Sharma, a resident of Karnpur village under Dhaulana of Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh, was also an employee of Janata Inter College. He left for his school on Monday morning, in the meantime, three miscreants stopped his bike and fired indiscriminately and escaped from the spot.

The BJP leader was hurriedly admitted to a private hospital in Hapur. He died during treatment there. On hearing the incident in broad daylight, the high officials reached the hospital with heavy police force and took the body of the BJP leader and sent it for postmortem.
