Lucknow: Two daughters of UP Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leaders have lost their lives after being hit by an unidentified vehicle. Both the girls were riding on a scooty. Former BSP district collector Suresh Chandra Gautam said his elder daughter Mamta (32) was married and worked as an education supporter in a primary school in Behata Kalan village, while her younger daughter Anjulata (28) was an assistant teacher in the same school.

It has been heard that Mamta, the eldest of 5 siblings, had been teaching in the school since 2009 and was appointed here in 2018 as an assistant teacher of Anjulata. Gautam said the two sisters used to come and go to school together on scooty. They were hit by an unidentified vehicle while returning home after school on Thursday. Due to which they died.

"We are trying to identify the vehicle that hit the victims," said Manohar Singh, SHO Nigohi police. No witnesses to the accident have been found so far. An FIR will be registered after collecting adequate information and lodging a complaint by the family. Both the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
