Etah: In Uttar Pradesh, one person was shot and several others were injured in stone-pelting in a violent clash between two groups in the Marhara area of Etah district on Saturday. Police sources said that the annual fair at Bhurgama village had begun on Friday evening when the abuse between the two groups of people turned into a scuffle.
The series of clashes continued even today and there was stone pelting and firing between the two sides. A youth named Ram Kumar was injured in the firing, who has been sent to a hospital for treatment. He said that one of the Lodhi parties alleged that during the fair, the other dhobi side of the village had cut the light of the village and pelted stones at them. Many people were injured in the stone-pelting.
This morning, the Dhobi side surrounded a house on the Lodhi side and did not allow it to go out due to the same lane. In the meantime, there was also violence and heavy stone pelting from both sides. Sources said, in view of the prevailing tension in the village, a force of several police stations has been deployed at the spot.
