Fact Check: Asim was beaten with belt in train for not chanting 'Jai Shri Ram'

Lucknow: In the last few years, there have been many such cases in the country, in which Muslims have been accused of being tortured for not chanting 'Jai Shri Ram', but later those allegations have been made to spread false propaganda. This propaganda was spread so that one section of the country could be shown as victims and the other majority class as intolerant and oppressive. However, it is the same majority class that did not cut anyone's neck even when the Shivling was called a private part and did not raise slogans like 'Sir Tan Se Juda' even when an education minister called his holy book Ramcharitmanas a hate-spreading book. Yes, if they have to express their displeasure, they express their anger in a constitutional way by just running a boycott campaign. But, Indian politicians fiercely promote every propaganda against this class for the sake of the vote bank.

Now one such case has come to light from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. Many big media outlets are running the news that a Muslim man was stripped off his clothes and beaten up because he refused to say 'Jai Shri Ram'. After its video went viral, GRP also detained 2 people. Aaj Tak has said in its report that a man named Asim was beaten up by a belt in a moving train and people who boarded the train in Hapur did this by accusing him of 'theft'. The incident took place on Thursday (January 12) on the 'Padmavat Express' going from Delhi to Pratapgarh. Aaj Tak also wrote that the victim was beaten up when he did not chant 'Jai Shri Ram'.

When the matter came to the notice of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, he also immediately shared the video on his Twitter handle and wrote, 'Asim Hussain was beaten up on the train, his clothes were taken off and he was forced to chant JSR. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had referred to the 'thousand years' war, is this another proof? UP Police and GRP should take strict action on this incident.' In such a situation, Congress also isn't going to keep quiet in such a matter, which stamped the word of Hindu terrorism and described the 26/11 terror attack as an RSS conspiracy and not a Pakistani conspiracy.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi made his political bet on this issue and wrote, 'Just yesterday Mohan Bhagwat ji was saying that Muslims need not fear? This is the dual character of the RSS and the BJP, which is considered to be the exact opposite of what they say. GRP SP of Moradabad Sir, this is a pathetic situation of security arrangements in trains?" He took to his Twitter handle to share the video of 'ABP News', which had reported the incident as 'hooliganism in the name of religion'.

But, all these people who are spreading propaganda in the name of lies did not make any effort to know the truth. However, when the allegation was made, the Uttar Pradesh Police investigated the matter by registering an FIR. Moradabad's Deputy Superintendent of Railway Police said that a complaint in this regard was received at 11 pm, in which the passenger alleged that he was startled by 'holding his beard', manhandled, and forced to chant 'Jai Shri Ram'. However, the Deputy Superintendent of Railway Police says that no incidents of forced religious chanting and 'pulling of beard' have come to the fore during the investigation.

According to the report, he also told that an investigation revealed that Asim was molesting a woman on the train, after which the people present there beat him up. Moradabad GRP Inspector Sudhir Kumar told the media that the man who was beaten up had molested a woman passenger and on seeing his actions, some youths beat him up. It is also worth noting that Inspector Sudhir Kumar also denied any forcible chant of 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans.

He told that police personnel who were patrolling on that train came to know about the incident. On the allegations leveled by Asim, they told that no one's tongue can be locked, but this is the reality. They told that no report was filed on the day of the incident and the next day Asim came to the police station with journalists and gave a complaint. It is clear from this that what was the intention of Asim and he gave communal color to the incident to save himself and get publicity. However, by then this video had reached many people through Owaisi, Imran Pratapgarhi, and the media, that is, the work of those spreading hatred against the majority class was already done. It is also worth noting that, when non-Muslims are shot on seeing ID cards in Kashmir, then people like Owaisi and Congress leader Pratapgarhi do not utter a word. On the contrary, Owaisi reaches the police station to get those people released, who raise slogans of beheading on the streets. Were those slogans not raised to scare anyone? Does the constitution give freedom to take out on the streets and threaten to behead? It is also a matter to think that, if a case like Shraddha-Aftab comes to the fore, then these leaders appeal that it should not be seen through the angle of religion. It is also true, a criminal is only a criminal.  But, when any issue is seen to attract a vote bank, these people immediately wear the spectacles of their religion, then they do not even see the difference between lie and truth.
