Shamli: Four suspects have been arrested from Jalalabad in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. All these citizens are said to be nativeto Myanmar and were living here illegally. They are alleged to have been replaced by a madarsa. Three Madarsa teachers have also been arrested on the same charge.

The four foreign nationals arrested are said to be from Myanmar and suspected visas and passports have been recovered from them. According to the police, all these foreign nationals had been teaching in the madarsas of Shamli for many years. The case is currently under investigation. Shamli SP Ajay Kumar said that four persons were living in the country without valid visas and had obtained fake Indian papers like passports and Aadhaar cards. He said four foreigners, Rizwan, Nauman, Furakan and Abdul Majid, had been living illegally in the country for the past two years and were detained on Monday on the basis of intelligence inputs.

The Shamli police chief said that three Madarsa teachers Qari Ashraf Hussain, Hanifullah and Wasif have been detained for illegally providing shelter to four persons. Police said, seven persons have been booked under the 'The Foreigners Act' and related sections of the Indian Penal Code and are being questioned.
