Lucknow: Police have received a complaint about a flag similar to Pakistan being publicised at a house in the Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place at Mundra Bazar Ward No.10 in the Chauri Chaura area. An FIR has been registered with the police and 4 persons have been booked in the case. The incident took place on 10th November 2021 (Wednesday). Gorakhpur police have shared the action taken in the incident on their official Twitter account.

 

According to Gorakhpur police, some people gathered at area Chauri Chaura on the information that Pakistani flags were established at the house. Police also rushed to the spot and maintained peace. A case has been registered against 4 persons on the complaint of the youth. The flag has been taken over. Legal action is being taken by constituting 3 police teams. According to media reports, a case has been registered on behalf of the National President of Brahmin Jan Kalyan Samiti Kalyan Pandey. The accused have been prosecuted under sedition. A precautionary force has been placed in place to keep the law and order normal.

 

No flag was reportedly found when the police reached the house after taking cognizance of the viral picture. Police checked and found the house locked from inside. The house opened an hour later. Police took into custody a man found on the spot. A huge crowd gathered at the spot which also ransacked the car parked in front of the house of Pappu Qureshi who put up the flag. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) workers also reached the spot. As a result of the incident, a video of the commotion and mob outrage is also going viral on social media.
