Missing Muslim girl caught as Priya by UP Police, has adopted Hinduism

Lucknow: The Muslim woman whom the Uttar Pradesh Police had been looking for for almost a year has now become a Hindu. After leaving Islam, Sakina converted to Hinduism. Her new name is Priya. Priya has also married a Hindu youth named Pankaj. She has told the police that she is happy to be with Pankaj and does not want to return to her old life and religion anymore.

The case is from Maharajganj in UP. In fact, Sakina had left home a year ago after being fed up with her husband Abdul's torture. Sakina from Sonauli in Maharajganj district, who has now become Priya, says she is very happy with her new life and identity. According to reports, the case dates back to the year 2021. Sakina, who went missing from her in-laws' house, was being searched by the police for the past one year. After the meeting, Sakina alias Priya told the police that she was married to her own relative Abdul in 2020. A few months after the marriage, the two started arguing. Abdul used to beat her every day.

Sakina tried to convince Abdul several times, but things did not change. Sakina also complained to her family members several times. But, every time the victim was silenced citing society and honour. Finally, fed up with the torture, Sakina left Abdul's house in January 2021. A missing person's report was lodged at Sonauli Kotwali on February 2, 2021. Since then, the police have been searching for her.
