Prayagraj: These days, there is a tremendous increase in dengue cases in many parts of the country. Dengue patients have to be admitted to hospitals due to low platelets. Many patients also feel the need for plasma transfusion. Such the case of a patient getting seasonal juice in place of plasma has come to light.

In a strange incident in Prayagraj, a dengue patient was allegedly given seasonal juice instead of plasma, which resulted in the death of the patient. A video purportedly exposing a fake blood bank unit in Uttar Pradesh is going viral on social media. This video has been posted by a local journalist on social media. Actually, both plasma and seasonal juice look 'similar'. 
 
On this issue, Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said that the investigation of the incident is going on and soon the test report will be in front of us. He said that strict action would be taken against those found guilty in the case. Meanwhile, in view of rising dengue cases, the state government has directed all doctors and paramedical staff in the state not to take leave. At the same time, the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday asked the Municipal Corporation to apprise it of the steps taken for the control and prevention of dengue. The Lucknow bench of the court has also asked the state government to inform about the up-gradation of medical facilities.
