Lucknow: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has passed a new and very strict law against cow slaughter. Now those who will be caught in the crime of cow slaughter, they will also go to jail for 3 to 10 years. Property of cow killers will also be confiscated and posters will also be put up to identify them like rioters. Giving information about this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Surendra Khanna of the UP Government has said that the Yogi Government has passed the Prevention of Slaughter Amendment Bill, 2020. With this law, the law against cow slaughter in UP has become stronger.

In UP, the crime of cow slaughter will be non-bailable. In the new law, there is a provision of 3 to 10 years jail and 5 lakh fine on Gokshi. Breach of cow dynasty will result in imprisonment for 7 years and a fine of up to 3 lakh. For the first time, there is a provision of 3 to 10 years in jail for proving charges of cow slaughter. There is also a provision for fine ranging from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. The second time, if the charge of gokshi is proved, both the fine and the punishment will have to be paid. A provision has also been made to take action and confiscate property under the Gangster Act.

Along with this, the Yogi government will now put up public posters of criminals related to cow smuggling. The drivers, operators and owners of vehicles involved in cow smuggling will also be made accused under this law and the cost of one year of fodder and water of cows rescued from smugglers will also be recovered from the accused.
