Dehradun: In the country's state of Uttarakhand, in the rice scam of about 600 crores, even from the special investigation report of the audit the scam has been confirmed at every level. Finance Secretary Amit Singh Negi has sent this test report for 2015-16 and 2016-17 to the Chief Food Secretary. It is clear from the report that from paddy procurement to milling, packing, transporting to godowns, there is a muddle at every stage. Even the state pool that supplied rice to the PDS was not abandoned.

In the state, rice scam came out in 2017. It was also investigated by the SIT, and an error of about 600 crore rupees was revealed. Many cases surfaced including foul play of rice of poor quota. In this, some officers were also suspended. Now it has also emerged in the special audit that in this mess the game was played at every level. Demonetisation was also profited, and crores of rupees were made in sacks. According to the report received, the government lost about Rs 18 crore in the food system itself.

In the reimbursement of sacks, an overpayment of Rs 43 crore was shown. This is when the special audit team could not conduct a full investigation due to non-help from the concerned parties. The government formed a separate committee to investigate the payments made to the farmers. This committee gave evidence of 304 of 350 in 2015-16 and 361 out of 400 in 2016-17. It was said to buy paddy worth Rs 1781 crore. Paddy purchase of about Rs 217 crore was not confirmed due to lack of evidence. The case is now being investigated.
