Work has started in the state on the important scheme of the Central Government to give ownership rights to the people living in the Gram Panchayats of Uttarakhand. Under this scheme, an agreement has been signed between the Department of Revenue and Survey of India. Now the survey will be started. On National Panchayat Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this scheme for eight other states including Uttarakhand.

Under this, every village has to have a digital survey and the people of the village will be given a property ownership card. Additional Secretary Panchayat and Director Harish Chandra Semwal informed that a contract has been signed between Revenue, Panchayat and Survey of India for this work. According to the Additional Secretary, 6227 villages of Udham Singh Nagar, Pauri and Almora will be surveyed in the first phase.

In this drone-based survey, property mapping will be done. The plan was also reviewed on Thursday through a video conference of AP Nagar, Joint Secretary, Central Panchayati Raj Department. The Panchayats are facing problems due to extremely slow speed on the Swaraj portal. The profile of 2888 gram panchayats has been updated on the gram swaraj portal in the state. The information has been given for the meetings of 7197-gram panchayats. GPDP of 2924 has been approved.
