Uttarakhand government's decision amid lockdown, big discount to electricity consumers

Dehradun: In order to give relief to the power consumers in Uttarakhand, many big decisions have been taken on the instructions of Chief Minister Trivendra. This decision has been taken in view of the problems of demand and lockdown of farmers, industries and commercial establishments. The Trivandra government decided that concession in late payment surcharge will be given in private tube well category, which will benefit 20 thousand farmers.

As per the order, concession in late payment surcharge is being given to the consumers of private tube well category paying the bill till June 30. The economic burden of Rs 3 crore 64 lakh will be borne by the state government. With this, 2 lakh 70 thousand industrial and commercial consumers have also been given benefit.

The recovery of fixed / demand charge in respect of electricity consumption from industrial and commercial category consumers from March 2020 to May 2020 has been deferred. There will also be exemption from late payment surcharge. This will benefit 2 lakh 70 thousand consumers. The financial burden of about 8 crores coming on this will be borne by the state government.
